BEACH HOUSE

Our client is an expatriate Scot living in Singapore.

He had owned this beachfront double upper apartment for some time and whilst it was perfectly habitable it was a little tired and some of the spaces left a lot to be desired. He used it occasionally himself but wanted to make it more appealing for holiday lets and more comfortable for himself and his young family.

The existing public areas were opened up to form a large open plan living / kitchen / dining room and new bleached oak flooring used to unify the space and give a seaside feel; elsewhere dormer windows were enlarged and added to improve the views and allow light to flood into previously dark and dingy bedrooms; outside, the very small garden was landscaped to form an “external room” with barbecue area and seating to make the most of the East Lothian sun.

What was previously a rather average seaside property is now something very special within the local letting market, it is simply stunning throughout, a really warm, comfortable, family holiday home whatever the weather.
